Pandora Hearts is a Japanese manga sequence written and ornament by Jun Mochizuki. It was a serial in the monthly shōnen manga magazine “Gangan Joker” from 2006 to 2015 and later compiled into 24 tankōbon volumes. The story follows a young man named Oz Vessalius, cast into the Abyss, a mysterious and dangerous realm inhabited by monsters known as Chains, on his coming-of-age ceremony.

In the Abyss, Oz encounters a robust Chain named Alice and contracts with her, granting him access to her abilities and her help in escaping the Abyss. Upon returning to the surface world, Oz learns that he is a noble family member with a dark past and that his connection to the Abyss is more complicated than he initially thought.
